ABOUT ME
I’m a communications professional and visual artist based in Edmonton with over 10 years of experience in visual branding for organizations of all sizes. I’m passionate about storytelling, and I pride myself on creating effective and unique content through graphic design, videography, and photography. In a nutshell, I love helping my clients realize their visions and communicate with their audiences effectively. I graduated from the Journalism program at MacEwan University in 2010, with a focus on long-form writing, feature writing, photography and interviewing. I’ve also completed the Video Kitchen program through the Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta and earned multiple certificates in graphic design, also from MacEwan University. I'm currently selling my art and designs on three different websites, with two unique collections, included on multiple products from tech and outdoor lifestyle to home decor and more. VIDEO PRODUCTION & MENTORING I have contributed to projects with CBC Arts - Big Things Small Towns, Canada’s a Drag) and Accessible Media Inc. (Camp He Ho Ha documentary). From 2018 to 2020, I facilitated various client and in-house video projects with Modern Muse Media Ltd., where I created a curriculum and taught workshops for local small businesses and individuals. The curriculum included how to create effective video marketing plans, production tips, and lessons on shooting and editing videos for social media. My passion behind the lens inspired me to produce, direct, shoot, and edit an online baking series called Chelsea's Kitchen. The series was targeted towards individuals looking for simple and fun recipes, seeking out tutorials for delicious and easy-to-make baking. This project fed my passion for creatively filming and editing unscripted and unpredictable moments—which was both a challenging and rewarding adventure. MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS With many of my clients, I work within existing marketing and communications teams by contributing my skills in content planning and creation (video, digital copy, graphic design, and photography) and content management (website and social media) to team projects and creative ventures. From 2015 to 2018, I was the editor and lead writer for Healthy Schools Alberta Magazine, where my responsibilities included researching, writing, design & layout, pagination, and photography for the bi-annual publication. I was also responsible for assigning articles to internal and external writers and managing its editorial calendar. My diverse skill set gives me a unique perspective, an ability to build and maintain meaningful brand narratives, and a desire to deliver a professional product and a powerful aesthetic to all of my clients. I’d like to add value to your next project, too. |
